HVAC Coil Coating (RTPF)

Blygold has developed pioneering coatings specifically for HVAC corrosion protection. From the very beginning Blygold has always focused on corrosion protection for heat exchangers. Different types of corrosion such as galvanic or pitting rapidly decrease the heat exchange efficiency of coils and the efficiency of the total HVAC equipment.


Finned Tube Coating
Finned tube heat exchangers are often the first choice in power plants, offshore rigs and heavy industries. This type of finned tube bundles are known for the high quality but sometimes need extra protection in corrosive environments. To seal of the vulnerable metals from corrosive elements Blygold developed special application procedures and coatings for these spiral tubes bundles.
Coatings can be applied to L-foot, embedded and extruded fin tubes. Finned tubes can be coated before bundle assembly but also already assembled bundles can be protected due to special Blygold spray procedures that ensure full coverage even in the middle of these thick and complex elements.
Microchannel Coating
The Micro Channel Heat Exchanger (MCHE) development originates from the automotive industry where it has been used since more than twenty years now. They have however only recently been introduced to the HVAC&R industry. Some of the big advantages are that they are lighter, more efficient and they lower the required refrigerant volume. Another advantage of an MCHE coil is that it’s made out of aluminium only. This makes it less vulnerable to galvanic corrosion (caused by combining dissimilar metals) than the traditional RTPF coils. The MCHE coils not only bring the above mentioned advantages , they also bring with them extra challenges. In corrosive environments, not only the fins will corrode but also the aluminum tubes are at risk.

Tube Sheet & Waterbox Cladding
Blygold ensures 100% protection against corrosion of tube sheets and waterbox cladding with its unique products and applications. Tube sheets and water boxes are subject to severe corrosion due to the construction with dissimilar metals and corrosive water. The pitting corrosion around the tubes rapidly create leakages. While corrosion of baffle plates and water boxes result in early replacements and severe capacity loss. Simply applying a coating will not prevent this due to the complexity of the construction. Therefore Blygold follows a special procedure to ensure the coating system will protect the valuable equipment for years to come.


Cabinet & Casing Coating
Blygold offers a wide range of HVAC coatings developed for the interior and exterior of HVAC equipment. A coating can be required for cooling towers, air handling units, air conditioning units (indoor and outdoor) and piping. This can be for aesthetic reasons or for protection in a highly corrosive environment. Blygold has products for every scenario. Plus it has different 1, 2 or 3 layer coating formulas that can protect your equipment up to Class C5-M.
Refurbishment & Rejuvenation
Blygold are experts in renovating air handling units and cooling towers. Replacement of these units is very costly and with Blygold it can be avoided. Blygold has developed a specialized refurbishment concept. Refurbishment is significantly lower in cost than replacement.
